BIO / Jenna McMahon
Jenna “McNaturalist” McMahon has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from Queen’s University (Kingston, ON) and a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Monitoring and Impact Assessment from Cambrian College (Sudbury, ON).
She began her journey into photography with a second hand camera and an idea that if she could take better photos of the birds, bugs, and flowers she enjoyed on her travels then she could help raise awareness of the wonders of nature big and small on social media.
Jenna McMahon worked in environmental consulting for eight years after her graduation from college. Travelling all over Canada and the United States applying her knowledge to issues of environment, health and safety.
She has a passion for social justice and believes that any workplace policy designed to achieve gender equity must be inclusive of all members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
Jenna McMahon is currently growing her technical knowledge in a full-time career as a hydrogeologist while pursuing wildlife photography on a freelance basis.
Other hobbies and interests include: kayaking, learning new languages, knitting, writing, mindfulness, and volunteering with her community.
